American Farmer-Soldiers & Scientists Part of Counter-Insurgency in Afghanistan

On 12 August 2010 Voice of America published an article on the role that U.S. soldiers are playing in helping to build a functioning agricultural sector in Afghanistan.

"Sgt. Ashley is an unlikely beekeeper. She's a University of Kentucky biology graduate, but never worked with bees before coming to Afghanistan. She admits it was a bit frightening, at first."
