BT Eggplant - Phillipines City Mayor Issues Cease & Desist Letter to University Research on GM Eggplant

On 13 December 2010, Sara Z. Duterte, Mayor of the City of Davao issued a cease and desist letter to Dr. Gilda Rivero, Chancellor of the University of the Philippines - Mindanao that applies to Bt Eggplant field tests.  This request was made on the legal stipulation that the university was not compliant with biosafety regulations.
