Iran's Seafood Exports Record High at US$250M

On 6 May 2012 the Tehran Times reported that Iran plans to export US$250 million in fish and shrimp between March 2012 and March 2013. Between the same time in 2012-2011, it exported 4,000 tons of shrimp worth US$17 million to UAE, Kuwait, Lebanon, Australia, and Spain. Iran's Deputy Agriculture Minister, Gholamreza Razzaqi told the Mehr News Agency that Iran's fishery organization budget had been increased 20% to met these new export goals.
