California GM Labeling Ballot Petition Filed

The issue of GM food labeling will be put to a public vote in California this November 2012.  Supporters of the "Right to Know" petition gathered more than the required number of signatures legally necessary to put the issue to a vote.  The petition was written and filed by people who want all gene-modified (GM) food to be identified on food labels.  Opponents to the bill note that this will increase the cost of food.
