Coconut Water Market Keeps Growing - Nestle's "Outshines" Responds

With the explosive growth of coconut water in mind, Nestlé has launched a new line of frozen coconut snacks called "Outshine."  The coconut water market is growing quickly.  According to New Nutrition Business Report, it grew 100% in 2011 with sales of $265 million in the U.S. and E.U.  PepsiCo, Coca-Cola and O.N.E. are also competitors in this market.

The growth of interest in coconut water centers on claims that it is the best rehydration solution. On the packaging side, Tetra Pak is promoting growth in this new market.  It set up the Coconut Knowledge Center in 2012 in Singapore.  Top coconut producing countries are Indonesia, India, and the Philippines.
